Learning Disabilities (Mental Handicap)


Mental illness must not be confused with learning disabilities (mental handicap), in which a person has permanent, irreversible damage to, or incomplete development of, brain tissue which results in a wide range of disabilities. In it's most severe form, people are unable to walk, speak or understand simple conversation. In it's milder form, learning disabilities cause educational and intellectual difficulties and problems with social interaction.
